Tara Denny

Tara Denny

Tara explores pictorial narrative in both her ceramic surfaces and shapes often mimicking nature patterns and questioning the imprint we have on the land. Eco printing on fabrics such as wool with an ancient bundle dyeing technique and on paper by printing and drawing with ink all telling stories of the land around her.

“Like a dreamlike state.

My objects are in a state of pure suspense - they turn a blind eye to death itself and are unaffected by it’s decaying touch. I am interested in bringing forward the beauty that hides in the dark spaces of narratives. Embarrassing things that are not talked about, such as ones own struggle with mental health.

‘As she tends the holy wound within her she brings fertility to the earth’

These things transmogrify a social commentary through the relationships associated within them.

To overcome ones trauma one must engage in their own psychoanalysis to recover, to mend, to overcome and to engage in metamorphosis. My sculptures embody the metamorphic energies of the bodies they depict. Twisting and turning with their inner struggles they become changed into other beings and new forms of life. suggesting life is always in flux. The potentialities of becoming is ongoing and infinite.”

Stephanie Reynolds

Stephanie Reynolds

Stephanie is a self-taught abstract artist born and raised in the beautiful Dandenong ranges and now resides in the township of Belgrave with her husband and 2 young boys. Creating and exploring Art has always been in her blood but she only began creating publicly a year ago. Stephanie works primarily with Alcohol and Hi flow acrylic inks but dabbles in resin and other mediums from time to time. Stephanie finds inspiration in her natural surrounds and how it connects with people emotionally as well as the depths of the psychological map of the brain.  Stephanie’s style of work is free flowing and vividly subtle with soft edges and gentle colour merges.

The fusion of multiple tones and the dynamics between colour mixes combined with the immeasurable artistic potential within the ink palettes is what inspires Stephanie’s work. Although the hue blends in the pieces may vary, the way different qualities combine together and the soft romantic results are continuously present. Stephanie accolades colour for its powerful symbolism it employs to communicate emotion and mood in her work.

Stephanie creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of free flow and omissions designed to lure the viewer round in circles and through a whimsical space that consumes the viewer and seeks to impart a sense intense thought and emotion. Her work seeks to express the meaning of an emotional experience rather than physical reality.
